Jaeris, AKA the Gunslinger, is a man on a mission. When dictatorship and censorship took over his planet, he went out to other dimensions in search of weapons and people to help him overthrow the government. After an extremely long humiliation conga in which he saw his friends die, he was reduced to scavenging for supplies, and his way back home was destroyed, Jaeris now exists reluctantly in this universe. Although he's still snarky as a coping mechanism and tries to keep going, in large part he has succumbed to a hopeless depression that leads to alcoholism. He is, after all, facing down the very real possibility everything he's ever done has been for nothing, and with his ship's AI as his only companion, Jaeris doesn't exactly have a support network to help him keep it together.
